On April 1st, 2018, Tau Iota Chapter held our 2nd Annual Masquerade Gala benefiting our scholarship fund. It was a great success. We presented our Hartford 2018 Service Awards at the Gala to Francine Austin for her contribution to the Greater Hartford communities.

On April 1st, 2017, Tau Iota Chapter held our 1st Annual Masquerade Gala benefiting our scholarship fund. It was a great success. We presented our Achievement Week 2016 Service Awards at the Gala. We had our 2nd Annual Masquerade Gala on April 7th, 2018.
Talent Hunt Tau Iota Chapter

Scholarship Awards
March 16th, 2018 the Scholarship Committee presented $500 first place to Kayla Bush and $300 second place to Jaqueline Swagerty. The District Scholarship Award is given every year to a local high school student.
Talent Hunt Tau Iota Chapter March 2017
On March 27th, 2017, Tau Iota held our Talent Hunt at Bethel AME Church in Bloomfield, CT. We had six talented high school vocalists that were trained at their perspective schools. Our finalist , Gabrielle Rosado earned a $200 Award and represented our chapter at the 80th 1st District Conference in Dedham, Massachusetts. She came in second place at the District Talent Hunt Competition.
District Scholarship Awards
On June 7th, 2017 the Scholarship Committee presented Justin Antoine with a District Scholarship Award at Bloomfield High School. Justin was presented $750 and will being attending Wesleyan University. Basileus Bobby Gibson attended the event.
Hartford Tau Iota Chapter Reading Program June 2018
The Tau Iota Chapter Reading program was started in the Spring of 2018. It is an 8-week program were we have been reading chosen books with 3rd and 4th graders at the MLK school in Hartford. We are focusing on increasing literacy skills for those grades because kids in those grades fall behind in reading and sometimes never catch up.
Hartford Mentoring Tau Iota Chapter June 2017
On June 13th, 2017 Brothers attended the Final Tee-Ball game supporting the Hartford North-End Little League (HNLL) of Hartford CT. The men of Omega Psi Phi have been mentoring and financially supporting this youth program for over 20 years.
Tau Iota Chapter November 2017
Social Action
On Thanksgiving Morning November 23rd, 2017 Brothers served meals to the less fortunate at Union Baptist Church and Phillips Metropolitan Church. Brothers served meals from 6am to 8am at Union Baptist Church and from 8:30am to 10:30am at Phillips Metropolitan Church.
